Uni Vets Camden can provide medication, treatment and advice for a range issues faced by senior pets.

Arthritis
Just as in humans, arthritis is a condition that can cause pain, swelling, and stiffness in joints in dogs and cats. The medical care of arthritis in pets has advanced rapidly in recent years. There are a range of treatments including non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like metacam, joint supplements, physiotherapy and acupuncture.

Anaesthesia
It is a common misconception that pets are ‘too old’ to have anaesthetics. In fact, the risk associated with anaesthesia in an older dog or cat will depend on how healthy he or she is rather than his or her age.

With some extra care, many older pets can have procedures done under anaesthesia that greatly improve their quality of life. Common examples are dental treatments, and removal of skin lumps.

At Uni Vets Camden we design a tailored anaesthetic and pain plan for all animals including senior pets to ensure their anaesthesia is as safe as possible.

Euthanasia
Our veterinary team are animal lovers and understand how difficult losing a pet can be. When you decide the time has come to say goodbye, our staff will give your animal respect and dignity, and ensure you and your family have the time you need to say goodbye.

Uni Vets Camden procedure is to ensure your pet is sedated before the final procedure to make the process as peaceful as possible.

We also provide an in home euthanasia service, so your animal can pass on in comfortable and familiar surroundings. This can make the process less stressful for both you and the animal.

We can also provide information on cremation opinions for your beloved pet.
