Managing your anxious dog

Just like humans, dogs can suffer from anxiety too.

One of our patients this week was a dog who went missing 18 months ago after a particularly bad thunderstorm and luckily was  recently returned home. In situations when your dog may be scared or anxious such as thunderstorms or fireworks, it is important to keep your dog safe and indoors as he may panic and try and escape. Using Adaptil (synthetic pheromone spray) and a ThunderShirt can be effective in mild cases of anxiety, and in more severe cases, medication and behavioural modifications may be more appropriate – If your pet suffers from anxiety or if you have any concerns Uni Vets Camden are here to help.  It is important to address these issues to keep your dog happy and safe at home!
