Osteoarthritis

Does your pet have trouble getting up in the morning? Are they not walking with the same pep in their step? Then they could have osteoarthritis just like our friend Misty here! Luckily, at Uni Vets Camden, we have plenty of advice for dog owners who would like to make their furry companions more comfortable in their senior years.

Osteoarthritis can occur in 1 in 5 dogs older than 1 year of age. It is associated with degeneration of the joints and is often characterised by pain, inflammation, decreased mobility and limping. Whilst special foods and supplements can be helpful in the management of arthritis, your veterinarian also can also provide a 4-week course of injectable medications which can provide anti-inflammatory and pain relief properties whilst also supporting cartilage health and maintenance.

We will also keep a close eye on your pet just like we did for Misty to monitor their progress and ensure that they maintain a good quality of life well into their later years.
